The first child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, she became Princess Royal of Britain, then Crown Princess of Prussia, and finally Empress of the German Reich, which had been forged by blood and iron by Bismarck.

Vicky and her handsome prince, Fritz quickly grew to be partners in liberalism, bringing notions of constitutionalism to an autocratic regime.
